A question we hear a lot: "Why Ireland and not the UK or Canada?" One big reason is the stay-back option after a master's degree.
Under Ireland's Third Level Graduate Scheme (Stamp 1G), students who complete a master's or PhD (NFQ Level 9 and above) can stay up to 24 months to work or look for work, without an employment permit during that time. Bachelor's graduates get 12 months.
Why it matters
Ireland is home to the European bases of many global tech, pharma and finance companies. For students in data analytics, computer science, pharma or business, two years to build experience and find the right role is a real advantage.
Who Ireland suits
Ireland is not for everyone. It suits students who are clear about working in tech, pharma, fintech or business after graduation, and who are comfortable with a smaller country and higher Dublin rents.
